A year ago my wife put me straight. Too much working had made me a dull boy and she reminded me that doing what I really enjoy is important, not only for my own well being - but also the entire family. So I dusted off the camera and went wandering and exploring. Enjoying every minute of it. 2016 has been a great year! Skiing and kayaking in the north of Norway, hiking in Italy and Switzerland. Camping around various great locations with and without the kids in Norway Approximately 30 nights in a tent (and might just squeeze in another before the fireworks goes off).

The camera came along on every single trip. I have mastered and I have failed in my attempts to create something worthy of seeing. But all the time having fun. I have been active on Instagram finding lots of inspiration and communicating with like minded from all over the world. I have made my own photo Facebook page, my own webpage and more. Just the process of doing these things are fun and it's really just been a bonus when I get positive feedback on my work. In 2016 I have won a pair of Randonee skis, a backpack, seen my photo been used on a Christmas card for a non-profit organization, picked up by various sites as well as commercial interests. I have recieved a total of over 30.000 likes on my posts in 2016 (yes I admit that even as a 44 year old I am flattered by likes).

2017 is going to be even better with plenty of trips planned. Iceland in April probably being the highlight! And even though I am not really in a situation where I can quit my day job just yet I will get a little something back for my efforts in social media as I become an ambassador for www.Hektapatur.no which will be a lot of fun.
